Walks (coastal paths and Vélocéan)

Near the campsite and all through Loire Atlantique, there is a whole host of circuits to explore. Overlooking the ocean or at the heart of natural and historic sites, set off to explore the superb panoramas and unusual sights. The signposted paths can be explored as hiking trails for the most energetic visitors or as simple walks for holidaymakers in search of relaxation and calm.

The Coastal Path

Set off from Pornic and let yourself be carried along by this superb hiking trail dating back to the late 17th century. Here a journey of splendid landscapes and peaceful areas to relax or for a picnic awaits you. This very famous path will delight everyone who loves walking.

Sailing trips and outings

During your holiday at the Pornic campsite, with the ocean close at hand, you have an ideal opportunity to take to the sea. Head for the old port of Pornic and ask about the scheduled outings. You will have a chance to board one of the old sailing ships and to set off for a short trip or for the whole day on the waves facing the Côte de Jade.

Walks and hiking

1. On foot

Canal de Haute Perche Circuit and along the Coastal Path: fishing cabin trail, Sainte-Marie trail.

2. On foot or by bike

VAL Saint-Martin Lake, Huchepie Trail. There are three cycling trails: the Vélocéan, the Loire à Vélo and the Vélodyssée.

The Loire à Vélo trail (Eurovélo n°6) will take you over 50 km, through the Pays de Retz with the Maritime Canal of the Lower Loire and the canal machinery, all the way to the Loire Estuary.

The Vélodyssée trail is part of the EuroVélo n°1 cycling route between Norway and Portugal. In France, the route leaves from Finistère (Roscoff) and goes to the Basque country (Hendaye) via Loire-Atlantique along the Nantes Canal to Brest; the Loire à Vélo trail goes between Nantes and Saint-Brévin-les-Pins and finally the Vélocéan trail heads towards Vendée.

Just 100 m from the campsite entrance, the Vélocéan cycling path, shown by green arrows, is ideal for long cycling trips through the surrounding countryside and all along the coast. From Les Bleuets Campsite, in the town of Ste-Marie-Sur-Mer, you will head towards the Val Saint-Martin Lake, then cross Pornic and finally go down the coast as far as Bernerie-en-Retz, Les Moutiers-en-Retz and Bourgneuf-en-Retz.

3. On horseback

You can also enjoy outings on horseback. This is another way to explore the region for beginners or experienced riders.
